Facilitating the Spread of Buddhist DharmaBodhi Tree Center |
The Bodhi Tree Center (http://www.bodhitreecenter.org) is dedicated to helping raise the consciousness, instill the principles, and facilitate the practice, of the core concepts of Buddhism to people of all ages, by hosting Buddhist events such as meditation sits and Dharma talks, teaching language arts, holding ceremonies, running programs for children, and more.
For the most up to date information on regular events and special events please consult the Bodhi Tree Center's Web site at http://www.bodhitreecenter.org.
The Bodhi Tree Center has a small, but ever growing collection of Buddhist books in both English and Chinese. The lending library is available to anyone with an interest in learning more about Buddhist Dharma. There are books in our library -- in particular some of the major Buddhist sutras -- with detailed and very insightful explanations -- that you cannot find elsewhere -- not at Powell's Bookstore, not at Borders, not at Looking Glass Bookstore, not at the New Renaissance Bookstore, not at Barnes and Noble. (You can find some of them at Amazon.com, and the Portland Central Public Library however.) You owe it to yourself to take advantage of the rare opportunity to read these books.
Books in our library include the Shurangama Sutra, Lotus Sutra, Brahma Net Sutra, Amitabha Sutra, Pure Land, Pure Mind,, Pure Land of the Patriarchs, Bhadantacariya Buddhaghosa's The Path of Purification, and many more. Also available are many Buddhist books in Chinese.
