The following is a list, in alphabetical order, in no wise exhaustive, of (worldwide) sources for Buddhist books and other materials online.
Buddhist Text Translation Society (BTTS) is dedicated to the promulgation of "English and other language translations of texts on Buddha Dharma (teachings) from Chinese texts." All original translations coming out of the BTTS are reviewed, edited, and certified before publication. Major Buddhist texts translated into English from Chinese by the BTTS include the Amitabha Sutra, the Vajra Prajna Paramita Sutra (aka Diamond Sutra), the Shurangama Sutra, the Wonderful Dharma Lotus Flower Sutra (aka Lotus Sutra), the Flower Adornment Sutra (aka Avatamsaka Sutra), the Buddha Speaks the Brahma Net Sutra. The aforementioned sutras come with commentaries and explanations by Venerables. The BTTS also provides tapes and CDs of morning recitations, mantras, verses, including the Shurangama Mantra, the Great Compassion Mantra, and biographies of high Sanghans (monks and nuns). Many of these books and tapes can also be obtained from the various way places of the Dharma Realm Buddhist Association (DRBA), including (and especially) at the bookstore of the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas in Talmage, California.
Corporate Body of the Buddha Educational Foundation reprints and donates for free distribution Buddhist books, texts, commentaries, dictionaires, and other materials. Of the many books available in English that this body distributes: Pure Land, Pure Mind, The Seeker's Glossary of Buddhism, How to Live Without Fear and Worry, Mind Seal of the Buddhas.
Inward Journey Books is a publisher of Buddhist books for free distribution. The books are designed and published by Inward Path Publisher (IPP), which "aims at disseminating the noble teachings of Wisdom and Compassion of the Buddha to a wide segment of readers through the printing of Dhamma books and booklets."
Pariyatti offers "a wide range of books and tapes on the subjects of Vipassana meditation, Pali language studies... and the Buddha's teachings."
