Practicing Buddhist Compassion and Relief

Tzu Chi Foundation, Portland Chapter

Tzu Chi Foundation is a worldwide relief organization based on principals of Buddhist Compassion and founded by the Venerable Master Chung Yen of Taiwan. The foundation has, for instance, been instrumental and timely in the offering of assistance and relief -- material, physical, monetary, spiritual -- in the wake of such recent disasters as the Taiwan Earthquake, the Terroristic Attack on America (September 11, 2001), and Typhoon Nari.

The Portland Chapter of the Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation was officially formed in September 2001.
